Hey people, I'm back from this supEr haPpeNiNg camp ~ hall 2 FOC. Though it ends on Sunday morning and I'll be missing the Saturday overnight programme, well, I do miss my cell group at Uncle Henry and Auntie Carol's house tonight. And yes, I do want to go to church. yupzz.. Let’s get on with the details.
I supposed the real bonding in my group Raiha started with the messy dirty night games on the second night. There was this game where we were supposed to put through a whole string of items through our t-shirts and shorts and pass on the string to the next member. There was a mop head, sponge, hockey stick, dirty linen, socks and so on... totally grossed out la..
Then another game involves us to all be compacted in a toilet and cheer loudly to please the so-called "Angels". We were hot, sweaty and dirty. But that was not bad enough. The seniors threw flour, eggs, left over rice, noodles and even vegetables at us and we had to say we love them. So sadistic, but all in the name of fun :) I came out smelly like vomit, nearly puked :/
Then there was the blind, dumb and deaf game where the dumb had to instruct the deaf with hand signals. The deaf had to shout to the blind the direction out of the maze. And guess what?? I actually so-called "volunteered" to be the blind without knowing what I was getting myself into. Had to literally crawl my way out of the maze using my arm strength, while being soaked in egg and detergent. By the time I got out of the maze, I was like a fish soaked in oil. But it was really funny. One of the groups instructed their blind person through the most difficult route and he kept banging on the chairs. ha ha :P
At the end of the 6 stations, we were tired and drained. But the seniors had more installed. There was this candle game where each was given a candle and the attackers were supposed to attack the other group i.e. Samurai's raffia string that were linked to a couple of tables. And the defenders were supposed to blow out the enemy's one of course. I was an attacker. And there were 3 irritating guys who kept trying to blow off our candles. Want to blow our candles, Can. But please don't spit saliva on my hand la... ha ha :P and of course I recognised them. They played basketball against our team and kept knocking into me cause I was defending them.
Let’s see, the other highlight of the camp was traditional games. In the muddy field, the senior guys were supposed to interlock their hands with one another and form a spiral-like chain. We, the junior girls were supposed to tear them out of their tight chain. Much to our avail, we failed our mission. They were so much more muscular and larger than us, even a few of us can’t lift up their legs la and they were chanting “endure, endure” throughout the whole activity. The junior guys had to do the same. But the senior girls were rough and fierce, in the end, a couple of thinner guys got pulled up, including my friend. His souvenir was this long scratched across his stomach. Ouch. They are so merciless.
One cannot do without the famous catfight game at Sentosa to make the camp complete. It occurred in the sea. A girl was supposed to sit on a guy’s shoulders and then objective of the game was to knock out the other girls from the opposing team. It was really quite fun. And all those presumably demure kind of girls turned on their fierce mode. Meow!! Our group won the match against the other group of course. But when I participated for the juniors versus the seniors, of course we lost looking at how tough the senior girls were. But, I had lots of fun I would say. Yupz :P
And Friday night was SP night. It’s something like dinner and dance, one of the major highlights of the camp, not forgetting the fire dance put up by the OGLs. On the very first night, the girls were brought to a room to choose the kind of guy that they like : the sporty kind, the S.N.A.G or the mature kind. And the guys themselves were to choose from : The sporty kind, the girl next door or the mature type, all played out by the seniors. We were supposed to write post-cards to our “blind-dates” whom we don’t the least know. On the night itself, each guy was to be blindfolded and suppose to entertain the room of girls and then try to choose which is his blind date. If he didn’t choose the correct one, forfeit awaits him.. and the forfeits were really horrible. Like the seniors would drip candle wax on the guys bare chest or paste scotch-tape on the guys’ legs attempting it to be like waxing off his leg hair.
Yes, and guess what?? I was already quite uneasy when I received my postcard. There was a big portion of the card cornered of with the words : “I am looking for you!” And then on the other side, “Are you red?? I am yellow.” You all know the traffic light game? Where red is that you’re attached and orange/yellow means that you’re entering a relationship or someone like you or you like somebody. And green is of course go ahead. Yar. Anyway, my blind date wore a black long sleeve shirt with a red dragon design on the back. Some of his friends call him “long de chuan ren” I’m like “okie~”. But he was kind of conned into it. And really, he’s quite nice and boyishly cute. But really, he’s not my type. He’s too super enthusiastic and all. And when he said he has a feeling we’ll be called up on stage, I was practically crossing my fingers. Good thing his prediction did not come through. Anyway, I think I know what I’m looking out for. Yupz.
Oh yeah, on Thursday night we had this fright night thing where we had to go to 6 different places to patch up the story and then venture in 6 other places, with our buddies to collect the clues. I went with my “jie mei” and it was pretty cool. We were really blur and even had to ask the people who scared us what we were supposed to do. I remembered we when to a dark room with a corpse lying next to a diary. I asked him to quickly read out the words in the diary. I even had time to joke that his English was poor cause he couldn’t read one word. And it was when the “vampire”’ came out and frightened us. My buddy screamed of course and the vampire tried to scare us again. I had to stare and it and smile. And it was then when the corpse tried to blow out the only flame that lighted the room. Woow.. good thing my buddy was fast in stopping him from completely blowing out the flame. But at the end of it all, really, I had a lot of laughter and fun. What fun is it if you’re not scared or if my buddy didn’t scream out loud?? And really, there was a couple in my group in which the guy screamed louder than the girl. It’s super funny!! There were a lot of other funny incidents that happened. And the actors are really very very VeRy professional.
And yes, I really did enjoyed myself during the hall camp though currently now my group is putting up a performance and I didn’t get to drink the voka my group won. Oh well.. :)
